HOME SELLING

Keeping you informed on how to handle buying, selling — or just nesting at home —
as we adapt to life during COVID-19.

Q: Can I still list my house for sale

A: Every day that passes, people have a need to buy and sell homes. That doesn’t stop during the current pandemic. If you’ve had a major life change recently, whether with your job or your family situation, you may be in a position where you need to sell your home – and fast. While you probably feel like timing with the current pandemic isn’t on your side, making a move is still possible.

Q: Can I show my house without having buyers come into my home?

A: Yes! We have several different ways for you to show your home without letting buyers inside. Some of those include:

  1. Recorded video tours
  2. 3D Home tour
  3. Live video tour

Q: What can I do now to get my home ready to sell?

A: While it’s still possible to sell a home, it may not be right for your situation. If you can wait, there are still steps you can take now so you’re ready to sell when the time feels right.

  1. Review your timeline
  2. Make or plan for renovations or repairs
  3. Interview real estate agents
  4. Stay aware of the market

Q: Is it a good time to list my home for sale?

A: We are currently in the middle of an inventory shortage. Therefore, this is an incredible time to sell. Homes are selling quick, and for more money than most sellers expect.

Q: Do you have a safety plan in place?

A: Yes. We want everyone to feel comfortable when listing their home. We let each individual seller set the parameters of what they are most comfortable with. This could include only virtual showings, masks required, limiting the number of people in the home. During your listing appointmentn we will discuss this with you.

Q: How can I improve my home’s curb appeal so I’ll be ready to sell?

A: There are many tasks you can tackle yourself in preparation to sell. You may need to do a few touch-ups closer to listing, but you can get some of the big jobs out of the way now.

  1. Spruce up your yard
  2. Clean your driveway and exterior
  3. Touch up trim and doors
  4. Update fixtures

Q: Will the buyer's inspection still take place?

A: Yes, we have a list of inspectors who are still operating during this time.

Q: Will the appraisal still take place?

A: : We’ve been informed that the appraisers have methods to appraise homes that will still fall under “allowed” perimeters. So yes, your home will get appraised.

Q: Am I missing out if I don't sell now?

A: The best time to sell depends on your personal circumstances. Trying to time the market for the best deal is something even professional investors aren’t always good at. If you have questions about whether now is the right time for you, please reach out to us to talk your situation through.

Q: If I have additional questions can I reach out to The Hokel Real Estate Team?
