đź“Ť Shop Local this holiday season

shop local

There’s no doubt this year has been tough for all of us. Local businesses are starting to struggle more than ever. That’s why we want to encourage you to shop local this holiday seasons.

Here are 6 reasons WHY you should shop local:

1. It supports our local economy

When you purchase at locally owned businesses rather than nationally owned, more money is kept in the community because locally-owned businesses often purchase from other local businesses, service providers and farms. Purchasing local helps grow other businesses as well as the local tax base.

2. It supports our community + makes it unique

Where we shop, where we eat and have fun – all of it makes our community home. Our one-of-a-kind businesses are an integral part of the distinctive character of this place.

3. Local business owners invest in our community

Local businesses are owned by people who live in this community, are less likely to leave, and are more invested in the community’s future.

4. Local businesses create more jobs

Small local businesses are the largest employer nationally and in our community, provide the most jobs to residents.

5. They usually have much better customer service

Owners and employees of local small businesses are generally happier. Check it out yourself! When you shop local small biz and a corporate chain notice the sincere attitude between the people working there.

6. You’re supporting someone’s dream!

The people behind the business have a passion. Get to know these people in your community. When you personally know the people behind the business where you’re buying local products and services, you enjoy a connection you would not otherwise have. Along with the rest of the community, you celebrate when a favorite local business succeeds and you mourn when it’s forced to shut its doors. This personal investment isn’t quite as present when a chain business closes or is bought out by an even larger global corporation.

Bottom Line

This holiday season we can still contribute a HUGE part in helping local businesses thrive and survive this season. Let's come together and support our local small businesses and help them ring in 2021 with cheer!
